THE CITIZEN ON MARS

Tommorow is Christmas Eve and like in years past, it’s gonna be a jolly time for me, my wife Evelyn, my mother-in-law Nanay Dora and of course the kids. The kids could by then hang around the Christmas Tree all day long it seems, like they did a year ago, from sun-up till the chimes ring for the momentous eve, not taking their sights off at the artificial six-foot tree in the sala even for a moments time, wondering all throughout what those wrapped boxes contain and what’s in in store for each of them (I could see that in their focused eyes somehow). The smell of spaghetti (the way I want it done–dry and chunky) is such a harbinger of celebration and merriment for me—like an aroma therapy— that without it, it feels like there’s no celebration at all.

Oh, the food ain’t gonna be that plentiful considering the crisis our nation is suffering right now (as if there was a time where we were not in crisis). A couple of chicken dish here and there and some sweets on the sides—like a bowl of milky fruit cocktail—should make tommorrow a day of great remembrances and of course of gladness and joy. For Christmas I believe is foremostly a celebration of love and joy and so we count not merely what we have in bountiful and aplenty—except if they’d be love and care in our hearts.

I’d like to greet all my fellow bloggers a very merry christmas and a very happy new year. I may sound so formal here like in the wordings of those bestseller Hallmark greetings card, but my greetings are wholehearted. Merry Christmas to Marisol, Bing, Sam and his better-half Bambit, JP, Jangelo, BokBok, Abaniko, Teacher Luchie, Anicee, Cecille, Ayeza, Trickyboy, Vonjobi, Jababes, Father Stephen, Ms. B., Elizel, Gann, Pie, Elizel, MLQ3, Jove, Alvin, Max Limpag, John Clark, Buffwings, Punzi, Marvin, Jorge, Glenn, Shalimar, Snglguy, Rizalist, Jeff, Penovate, Ka Webspy, myepinoy, and many others who I fail to mention here. I hope I am not missing anyone…(Why do we always feel like we always miss mentioning someone significant when we are making a list of important people? It should be a phenomenon worthy of scientific study and research.)
